· The Rolling Stones were paid £50 for their performance at The Crawdaddy Club, Station Hotel, London. The Beatles met them for the first time on this day. Says Bill Wyman, ”We were playing there one Sunday and suddenly looked up and there were four sort of silhouetted guys with black leather overcoats … all dressed exactly the same. And we said to ourselves, “Shit! That’s the Beatles!” and got all nervous. But then we had a chat with them afterwards and stayed up all night rappin’ and we became really good mates.”
