1955 - Bill Haley & The Comets’s Rock Around the Clock hit no. 1 on the UK charts, while The Singing Dogs, a single by the band of the same name, entered the UK charts
1957 - Billboard reports that ”rock & roll acts are turning away from the increasingly disappointing grosses of big package shows in favour of smaller scale teen record hops where performers appear for a smaller guarantees but a bigger percentage of the gate”
1957 - Gene Vincent & The Blue Caps perform on the Ed Sullivan Show for their first national TV appearance

2003 - Meatloaf underwent heart surgery in a London hospital after being diagnosed with a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat. He had collapsed on November 17 as he performed at London’s Wembley Arena
