Afterwards, Clapton told a reporter, ”I was very nervous, I felt sick, the whole bit.” Referring to the audience he added ”They don’t know how much it helped me.” Meanwhile, Slade’s LP, Slayed went to no. 1 on the UK charts
1974 - A small riot by fans broke out when Steve Miller was inadvertently not invited to his own ‘after-concert’ party at Tower Records in Los Angeles. Police closed down the store – there were 37 injuries including 17 police and 8 arrests

They were charged with bilking artists out of $184,000 in royalties. Charges had been brought during a federal investigation for possible instances of payola
1978 - The Police started recording their first album. Also, Elvis Presley’s cover of Paul Anka’s My Way went gold
1979 - The Young Mens’ Christian Association filed a libel suit against The Village People over their song Y.M.C.A.. The suit was later dropped
